Evalajka Pervin 1973
Autodidact artist since 1996
Born and raised in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Danish multimedia artist, with two cultural identities,
the diaspora of her parents becomes a powerful tool as a story teller.
Her strong ability to digest the worlds surrounding creates a platform for serving mind blowing pieces with key notes such as humor, intimacy, teasing the perception of mind, female rituals, beauty and layers upon layers to be unfold and perceived by the viewer.
Her practice applies to an array of mediums, including spoken word, drawing, painting, poetry, video art, performance art and installation.
The playfulness is a companion throughout the very beginning of her path as a self-taught artist. The work features herself as an object and performer, the approach in her video work is a performance.
In Munich she had the opportunity to create a site specific art work with video in abandoned pissoir supported by The Munich art council (2016), video work has been selected for screening in Chicago and L.A. Pasadena (2014), Copenhagen metro one-minute film festival (2012), participated at several video festival, also curated in Denmark.
Latest a solo exhibition in an iconic tower in central Copenhagen projecting her videos out from the tower into the public sphere 2019.
“The tales and stories unfold in my work are small pods planted in the viewers mind, silently unfolding layers settling as sediment as time passes by, popping up when least expected is my way to be a storyteller “she says.
